  • Bios

    A Yext-exclusive data type that highlights a location's professionals and their expertise. Bios can appear on listings, in widgets and on sites built with Yext Pages.

  • Calendar

    A Yext-exclusive data type that describes events taking place at a location. Calendars can appear on listings, in widgets and on sites built with Yext Pages.

  • Category

    The location's business type (e.g., "Contractors > Carpet & Flooring > Carpet Retailers"). Many of the available category names in our system mention specific kinds of products or services (e.g., "Computers & Software > Software > Software Support," "Pets > Pet Food & Supplies"), making it possible for a location to have several categories.

  • CLIENT

    A direct customer of Yext

  • Comment

    (n) A brief response to a post on a social media site; (v) To leave a brief response to a post on a social media site

  • Consumer

    A person who currently, or may potentially, patronise a client's business

  • Cover Photo

    The image that appears across the top of a location's Facebook Page or Google+ Page

  • Custom Field

    A location field that a client creates for his or her account. The content of the field is not included in listings but can appear on sites created through the Pages product.

  • Customer

    A small business owner who purchases Yext's services through one of our partners

  • Daily Times

    A type of custom field that can be used to indicate a time when a specific event occurs each day at a location (e.g., package pickup times)

  • Display number

    A phone number that forwards calls to the main phone number for a location. If provided, this phone number is shown instead of the main phone number on listings.

  • Duplicate suppression

    A feature that lets partners choose which of their customers' duplicate listings on a site should be deleted or hidden from view

  • Folder

    An organisational tool that clients and partners can store locations or other folders in

  • Google Attribute

    The set of short descriptors Google uses to help consumers find locations that meet their specific needs. Many Google Attributes are category specific (e.g., a restaurant may have "serves_brunch" as an attribute). (Currently applies to US locations only)

  • Healthcare Professional

    A type of "location" that contains information about a healthcare professional. A subscription to the Yext for Healthcare service is required to store information about healthcare professionals. (Currently applies to US accounts only)

  • Healthcare Facility

    A type of "location" that contains information about a healthcare facility. A subscription to the Yext for Healthcare service is required to store information about healthcare facilities. (Currently applies to US accounts only)

  • Holiday Hours

    The special business hours a location has on a specified date

  • Holiday Times

    If a location has a daily times custom field, the time at which the event occurs on a specified date

  • Label

    A short piece of descriptive text that a client uses to identify a location or a set of locations

  • Language Profile

    Allows clients to provide language-specific values for certain location fields, which enables them to publish their location data in multiple languages

  • Likes

    The number of times consumers have clicked the "Like" button for a particular page, post or comment (e.g., "This post has 52 Likes.")

  • Linked Account

    An account on a social media site (e.g., Facebook) or marketing site (e.g., Yahoo Ads) that you have allowed Yext to access in order to complete specific tasks (e.g., to publish your posts to your location's Facebook Page)

  • Listing

    A location's page in one of the sites in the PowerListings® Network

  • Location

    A client's physical, consumer-facing place of business that is subscribed to Yext's services

  • NPI

    National Provider Identifier, which uniquely identifies each healthcare professional and healthcare facility (Currently applies to US locations only)

  • Offer

    A set of Yext services a partner can sell to customers as a single bundle

  • Partner

    A professional or organisation who sells Yext's services as part of their own marketing or SEO products

  • Post

    (n) A piece of text, link, image or some combination of these items that a client or consumer has added to a social page's timeline or posts section or to a widget, (v) To create this kind of content

  • PowerListings® Network

    The set of sites that Yext syncs clients' location data to. The three types of sites in the PowerListings® Network are publishers, aggregators and social networks.

  • Products & Services

    A Yext-exclusive data type that shows a location's featured offerings. Products & Services can appear on listings, in widgets and on sites built with Yext Pages.

  • Profile

    An alternate name for "listing"

  • Profile Picture

    An image that appears at the bottom of the cover photo on a location's Facebook Page or Google+ Page

  • Publisher

    A website in the PowerListings® Network that serves as a local business directory

  • Publisher Suggestion

    A correction or addition to a location's information that consumers have submitted to a publisher. Currently, only Google and Yelp send these suggestions to Yext.

  • Rating

    A score given to a location by a consumer as part of a review. Ratings are usually expressed as a number of stars (e.g., two out of five stars).

  • Report

    A set of analytic data requested in an Analytics API request

  • Review

    A consumer's opinion about a location, as expressed on a listing or social page. Reviews can consist of text, a rating or both.

  • Section

    An optional feature of Bios, Menus and Products & Services that allows clients to organise items

  • SERP

    Search Engine Result Page, which contains links to listings

  • Service Area

    Describes the region that the location serves. Can be specified as the distance around the location, a set of postal codes or the name of a city.

  • SSO

    Single Sign On, which is a feature available to business clients and partners.
    With SSO:
    · partners' customers can access their Yext location information using the same login credentials they use to log in to the partner's platform and
    · employees of business clients can access Yext location information using the same login credentials they use to log in to their company's dashboard of apps and services.

  • Tracked phone number

    A phone number the usage of which is being tracked for analytics purposes (e.g., to measure conversion rates)

  • Widget

    A module containing posts, Bios, Menus, Calendars or Products & Services that partners' customers and non-enterprise clients can embed on their websites
